English: Dr. Richard Ferguson had served as physician to George Rogers Clark for seven years when Ferguson wrote his statement in 1809 concerning Clark's health. Dr. Ferguson outlined the details of Clark's health and infirmities. General George Rogers Clark suffered from rheumatism of the hip and knee, according to Ferguson, as well as weakness of the extremities. Dr. Ferguson believed that both conditionst were caused by the extreme circumstances Clark endured during his years of military service. Ferguson also notes the amputation of Clark's right leg due to an accident.
