鼻化元音

鼻化元音（nasal vowel，半鼻音，鼻腔元音，元音鼻音化）是發音時氣息從口腔和鼻腔同時流出的元音。

國際音標及葡萄牙語都採用「~」標示鼻化。

各種語言的例子

• 漢語
  • 普通話（在北方地區更普遍，尤其北京話）「燈兒」[tə̃ɻ⁵⁵]中的[ə̃ɻ]就是鼻化元音，但「燈」[təŋ⁵⁵]中的[ə]不是鼻化元音。
  • 上海話「打」[tã³⁴]中的[ã]。
  • 閩南語「三」[sã⁴⁴]或「影(子)」[iã⁴⁴]中的[ã]。
  • 長沙話「長」[tz̤̥ã¹³]中的[ã]
  • 益陽話「長」[lõ¹³]中的[õ]，又如「東」[tã³³]中的[ã]
• 波蘭語「ę」就是鼻化了的[e]。
• 法語「an」、「am」、「en」、「em」、「in」、「om」、「on」、「un」等字母組合在一般情況下都是鼻化元音。
• 葡萄牙語「ão」、「am」、「in」等字母組合在一般情況下都是鼻化重元音。「muito」中的「ui」是無標而且鼻化元音。
• 西班牙語和葡萄牙語中的上波浪線，分別用於字母ñ表示元音鼻音化，起源於一個nn合字（Espanna = España、anno = año）。
• 布列塔尼語(ñ)、羅興亞語(ñ)，以及台語(白話字的 -ⁿ)等語言，鼻化元音(ñ)用於表示將其前的元音鼻音化。
