室宿一 (飞马座α ,缩写为Alpha Pegα Peg),在西方的传统名称是, Markab /ˈmɑːrkæb/,[11][12],是飞马座的第三亮星,但因为是秋季四边形(飞马座四边形)这个星群的成员,因此拜耳在命名时,将它命名为飞马座α星。

性质

室宿一的恒星分类为A0IV,表明它是一颗已经耗尽其核心氢气的A型次巨星,并且在演化上已经超越了主序带。它的光谱也曾经被归类为B9V [13]和B9.5III[14]

它旋转的速度很快,投影自转速度约为130Km/S,给出了沿恒星赤道方位速度的下限。光球层有效温度大约是10,000K,且恒星半径已经膨胀至太阳半径的五倍,释放出的能量是太阳的165倍。

语源

室宿一的英文名Markab源自于阿拉伯语مركب markab,意为“马鞍”;或者可能是Mankib的误写,源于阿拉伯语منكب الفرس Mankib al-Faras,意为“肩上(的恒星)”。

在2016年,国际天文学联合会组织了一个恒星名称工作组英语IAU Working Group on Star Names(WGSN)[15]对恒星的专有名称进行编目和标准化。WGSN于2016年7月发布的第一份公告包括由WGSN核定的前两批恒星名称表,其中就包括室宿一的固有名称"Markab"[16]
