早川雪洲

早川雪洲(日语:早川雪洲/はやかわ せっしゅう Hayakawa Sesshū,英语:Sessue Hayakawa[2],1886年6月10日—1973年11月23日),本名早川金太郎,出生于日本千叶县安房郡千仓町(现南房总市),青年时赴美国芝加哥大学攻读经济学,后来活跃于好莱坞等欧美电影界,并成为20世纪10年代中期至20年代晚期的超级巨星,风靡了许多女性观众,其地位堪与同时代的查理·卓别林、范朋克等人相提并论。早川雪洲也是第一位在西方电影界达到顶峰成就的日本人和东亚人。晚年参与《桂河大桥》的演出,并获提名为1957年的奥斯卡最佳男配角奖。

虽然早川雪洲卓越的演技从无声电影时代到有声电影时代皆得到了西方人的肯定,但却因1915年在电影《The Cheat》中扮演一个冷酷残忍的日本青年而遭受祖国日本舆论的猛烈抨击,并被扣上了国耻大帽,此事让爱国心极强的早川雪洲深觉遗憾与不平。二战结束后,早川雪洲积极地回到日本活动,参与了多部日本电影的演出。1966年因妻子青木鹤子过世的影响而正式息影,1973年于东京都千代田区神田的杏云堂医院因脑溢血病逝,享寿87岁。
