蚁垤
蚁垤(梵语:वाल्मीकि; Vālmīki [ʋɑːlmiːki],?—?),又音译跋弥,是一位古印度梵语文学的先驱者诗人[1]。相传是公元前5世纪左右[2][3]到前一世纪[4]的作品《罗摩衍那》的作者[5],其身份不详,有很多传说,有人说是语法学家,或古代仙人。

相传蚁垤出身婆罗门家庭,因静坐修行数年不动,身上成了蚂蚁窝的小土丘,故以蚁垤为名。另一种说法原本是个弃儿,被山中野人收养。长大成家后,以偷盗为生,专门抢劫朝圣者,后来被一位瑜伽士开导。一般专家倾向《罗摩衍那》是漫长历史累积的产物,由历代宫廷歌手和民间诗人不断添加扩充,直至最后定型。蚁垤有可能是史诗原始形式的“最初的诗人”,也可能只是一位虚构的作者。
