元音變換

元音變化（英語 ablaut, vowel gradation, vowel mutation）是一種相當普遍的語言現象，常被用來進行屈折變化或用於衍生新詞。英語中元音變換的例子如某些動詞的詞形變化：drive/drove/driven等。

英語中 Apophony 指的是所有具有語法作用的語音交替，而不僅僅是元音變化，還有輔音變化、音韻變化（Prosodic apophony，參見Suprafix）、鼻音變化等等。
