《求聞》快訊：維基百科遭委內瑞拉當局屏蔽
【本刊北京2月3日訊】2019年1月11日開始，委內瑞拉境內再次爆發大規模遊行；23日，胡安·瓜伊多宣誓就任「臨時總統」，與尼古拉斯·馬杜羅分庭抗禮，並得到美國等國家的支持。據監視各國互聯網封鎖情況的網站「Netblock」消息，就在大規模遊行開始的次日，維基百科的所有語言版本在委內瑞拉無法訪問。這一封鎖包括了所有語言的維基百科版本，但不包括維基數據、維基共享資源等其他維基媒體項目。這使得委內瑞拉成為繼土耳其之後，全世界第二個完全屏蔽所有語言維基百科的國家。

【《求聞》北京2月7日訊】據英文維基百科《路標》月刊報道，詹姆斯·亞歷山大低調退出維基媒體基金會。
詹姆斯·亞歷山大曾是基金會的長期僱員，自2010年8月以來一直擔任信任與安全部經理，悄然由維基媒體基金會離職。伴隨着批評維基百科的論壇——Wikipediocracy上的大量猜測，維基媒體基金會的網站上沒有任何聲明。亞歷山大顯然已經悄無聲息地從三藩市辦公室離職。基金會官網上所有提到亞歷山大的地方都已經被小心刪除。

支撐着自由知識的平台維基百科的非營利組織維基媒體基金會今天宣佈維多利亞·科爾曼辭去她首席技術官的角色。

莉薩·萊文是「道德」風險投資公司的管理夥伴。「道德」風投是一家總部設於紐約的管理諮詢公司，麗薩是創辦人之一。網站上說，她創辦的「道德」風投「為企業和大型非營利組織的高級管理人員提供在變革方面提供方向，幫助建立蓬勃發展、對社會有積極影響的組織」。
【《求聞》北京2月7日訊】1月24日，基金會宣佈，任命瓦萊麗·德科斯塔為「社群參與官」，主管社群參與方面。
瓦萊麗·德科斯塔來自新加坡。她在加入基金會前，曾為新加坡政府工作十五年，而後又在世界銀行工作十年。維基媒體基金會的執行董事嘉芙蓮·馬赫評價道，瓦萊麗熟悉新興科技，又有環球視野。而她的能力能滿足我們對社群健康發展、社群多樣性、社群價值，以及活動成果的期望。

《求聞》社論：《牆外百科牆裏人》：缺少中國大陸觀點，維基百科將會怎樣
近期，有人提醒筆者，端傳媒上新發出了一篇文章——《牆外百科牆裏人：中國大陸的維基編輯們》（下簡稱《牆》），裏面介紹了中國大陸維基百科社群的一些現狀。在讀完這篇文章後，筆者對外人眼中的中文維基百科社群有了更深的理解，同時也更加深入地思考了這個社群的本質。
《牆》採編於2018年7月至8月，該文的記者通過實地探訪深圳維基聚會的方式獲得了部分素材，又通過站內觀察、維基媒體編輯部群組內的採訪等多種流程，獲得了一些資料。《牆》展示的中國大陸社群雖然只是這個社群的冰山一角，然而其提供的視角，卻是一個許多來自港澳台乃至新馬的維基百科編者很少主動接觸的……

《求聞》快訊：2019年瑞典Wikimania補助金申請已經開放
【《求聞》北京2月16日訊】一年一度的維基媒體國際會議（Wikimania）補助金申請自2019年2月15日起開放申請，並於一個月後的3月15日協調世界時23時59分（北京時間3月16日上午7時59分）結束。
今年瑞典斯德哥爾摩年會的補助金申請開放得比往年要晚。去年南非年會的申請早在前一年的12月15日就已經開始，但今年直到2月才開始。
在3月15日申請結束後，基金會有關人員會對申請者進行第一階段的初選。初選將於3月中旬結束，申請者則將在3月底到4月初收到初選結果。初選將篩選出明顯不符合申請條件、惡作劇的申請。之後，第二階段篩選將由一組專門負責補助金的委員會進行。第二階段主要考察申請者在維基媒體計劃上的貢獻。最後敲定的名單將在4到5月發佈。
申請表已經被翻譯成了簡體中文。
《求聞》專題關注：維基共享資源的多語言說明文字
2019年1月，維基共享資源上線了多語言說明文字功能，這也是維基共享資源結構化數據計劃中首先上線的一部分。
維基共享資源的結構化數據計劃啟動於2017年。受益於艾爾弗·斯隆基金的捐款，這個項目得以推進。將現有的文件描述轉化為結構化的數據，其優勢是顯而易見的。結構化的數據在使得文件信息易於整理、易於開發者和合作方的對接的同時，也讓多語言的分類、描述成為了可能，利用結構化數據生成的元數據也更加有利於文件的檢索和存取。

《求聞》快訊：Tigerzeng當選中文維基百科管理員；香港維基編者計劃於2月24日舉行聚會
【《求聞》北京2月19日訊】用戶Tigerzeng的管理員投票在經過了15天後，以49票支持對1票反對、支持率達98%的高票通過。Tigerzeng的投票是2019年通過的第一個管理員投票。
【《求聞》廣東深圳2月19日訊】香港維基人定於2月24日下午2時至6時在九龍灣Megabox舉辦線下聚會活動。本次聚會由用戶春卷柯南和1233組織。組織者說，聚會將討論「維基媒體項目社群、站務、編輯等事項」。
這是在香港舉辦的第119次聚會。前次聚會在去年11月舉辦，以亞洲月為主題。

《求聞》專題關注：中國的大江大河——中國大陸編輯們的方志研究
「只要沿着茲獨暗河的方向，就能到達精絕古城。」這是小說《鬼吹燈之精絕古城》中主角Shirley楊的父親筆記中記錄的關鍵線索。歷史上沒有茲獨暗河，但是精絕國卻真實存在過。神話小說並非是虛空杜撰的內容，也絕非歷史虛無主義的產物；相反，恰恰是因為蘊含着豐富的歷史與文化淵源，讓它在眾多作品中脫穎而出。此書及之後的電視劇也在中國掀起了民眾對古蹟遺址及歷史文化的瘋狂追逐。而在維基百科中，有大批中國大陸編輯在默默地為中國地方古蹟遺產、歷史文化進行着辛苦卓絕的創作和整理。我們恪守着編輯的底線，維護着一個百科全書應有的尊嚴與價值。

《求聞》快訊：中文-烏爾都語協作計劃3月1日開始
【《求聞》北京2月21日訊】昨日，醞釀兩個多月的中文-烏爾都語協作計劃敲定舉辦日期，並向先前登記的有意向者推送通告。通告寫道，中文-烏爾都語協作計劃將在3月1日開始，至4月15日結束。
這一協作計劃在元維基的頁面中稱，「雙方志願者將會編寫對方社群相關歷史、文化等內容的條目，以期增進百科質素及兩語種維基人之間的友誼」。活動中，只有在中文維基百科建立巴基斯坦和印度相關的條目，以及在烏爾都語維基百科建立中國大陸、香港、澳門、台灣和新加坡相關的條目才作數。而擴充已有條目等其他的改進不算作活動的一部分。其他的要求比較類似DYK（「你知道嗎」）的標準。活動的形式則類似「動員令」「亞洲月」等活動，是「編輯松」（edit-a-thon），考驗在一定時間內建立擴充條目的數量；但與涵蓋所有主題的動員令、涵蓋亞洲相關條目的亞洲月相比較下，本次活動的主題更明確。活動不設任何獎品。

The Wikimedia Foundation is planning a global consultation about communication. The goal is to bring Wikimedians and wiki-minded people together to improve tools for communication.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis, whatever their experience, their skills or their devices.
We are looking for input from as many different parts of the Wikimedia community as possible. It will come from multiple projects, in multiple languages, and with multiple perspectives.
We are currently planning the consultation. We need your help.
We need volunteers to help talk to their communities or user groups.
You can help by hosting a discussion at your wiki. Here's what to do:
- First, sign up your group here.
- Next, create a page (or a section on a Village pump, or an e-mail thread – whatever is natural for your group) to collect information from other people in your group. This is not a vote or decision-making discussion: we are just collecting feedback.
- Then ask people what they think about communication processes. We want to hear stories and other information about how people communicate with each other on and off wiki. Please consider asking these five questions:
- When you want to discuss a topic with your community, what tools work for you, and what problems block you?
- What about talk pages works for newcomers, and what blocks them?
- What do others struggle with in your community about talk pages?
- What do you wish you could do on talk pages, but can't due to the technical limitations?
- What are the important aspects of a "wiki discussion"?
- Finally, please go to Talk pages consultation 2019 on Mediawiki.org and report what you learned from your group. Please include links if the discussion is available to the public.
You can also help build the list of the many different ways people talk to each other.
Not all groups active on wikis or around wikis use the same way to discuss things: it can happen on wiki, on social networks, through external tools... Tell us how your group communicates.

《求聞》通訊：台灣分會與「李梅樹紀念館」合作一周年——帶給我們怎樣的啟示
【《求聞》上海2月27日訊】 2018年2月25日，「李梅樹紀念館」與台灣維基媒體協會合作，共同組織了第一次線下「工作坊」，拉開了台灣維基媒體協會與「李梅樹紀念館」合作的序幕。這一合作，標誌着維基媒體運動進來一直推動的「館聯」（GLAM）計劃在台灣邁出第一步。
李梅樹（1902-1983），是台灣著名美術家、畫家、教授、議員，曾主持修建台灣新北市三峽區的「三峽祖師廟」。現在在新北市三峽區有專門紀念他的「李梅樹紀念館」。紀念館中有大量李梅樹生前所作的藝術作品，這也催生了李梅樹紀念館與台灣維基媒體協會的合作。
李梅樹紀念館在活動聲明中說，活動初期將把紀念館中的展品數碼化，上傳整理資料、翻譯完善對應的維基百科內容。最終希望逐步藉助維基的力量，將李梅樹向全世界推廣。這一活動是由台灣分會牽頭的「台灣知識種子計劃」的一部分，後期與台灣台中社群的「MoWiki編輯聚」共辦。
在過去的一年裏，台灣分會與李梅樹紀念館合作共辦聚會十次，紀念館提供各類作品一百五十餘件，成果斐然。除了維基百科和維基共享資源上的文字和圖片貢獻之外，本次合作還大量地利用了維基數據。所有透過這次合作上傳的各類圖片作品，都有一個自己獨立的維基數據「項」（item）。以李梅樹的油畫作品為例：在對應的「項」里，包括了油畫的尺寸、作畫所用的材料、年份等。這些李梅樹的作品在維基數據的「項」，同時也是「所有繪畫作品總和的維基專題」（WikiProject sum of all paintings）的組成部分。這個專題希望把所有有一定知名度的繪畫作品在維基數據上建立「項」。
