菲律宾语言

菲律宾语言包括菲律宾所有使用中的语言。依据不同分类方法,菲律宾有120到175种语言和方言[5] 。几乎全属于马来-波利尼西亚语族,仅有零星例外,如查瓦卡诺语是一种来自罗曼语族克里奥尔语。菲律宾有两种官方语言(英语菲律宾语)。而截至2017年,有19种官方辅助语言(地区语言)[4]。若包括第二语言的使用者,使用菲律宾语的人口还是多于英语[6]

现今菲律宾本土文字(如库利坦字母塔格班瓦字母英语Tagbanwa等)的使用很少;主要由于西班牙美国的殖民地经验,菲律宾语言今日大多使用拉丁字母。然而,最著名的菲律宾本土文字贝贝因字母仍存在一些官方应用,用来书写菲律宾钞票上“Pilipino”一词。另外,菲律宾南部一些穆斯林地区也使用阿拉伯字母
