On enwiki, CorenSearchBot used to tag new pages that have copyright violations, and the community has expressed interest in reviving it. The stack behind CopyPatrol essentially is already doing the same thing, except we're not tagging the page. We could not only tag new pages with copyright issues but do the same with any revision.
Related templates: Template:Copyvio-revdel (for revisions), Template:Csb-wikipage (for new pages). These hopefully can have a link back to the entry in CopyPatrol, so that users can mark the entry as fixed.
This is all pending community discussion and bot approval. Bell Wo(留言) 2017年11月1日 (三) 20:01 (UTC)
WMFLabsBot FunctionThis bot patrols[1] newly created pages in the main space, and matches the contents against a web search. Pages found to contain a significant portion of text taken from another web page are tagged (and categorized) for human attention according to some guidelines:
If the 'bot modifies the newly created page in any way, then it will also leave a message on the creator's talk page, and on suspected copyright violations to bring attention to the apparent problem. Additionally, the 'bot watches and/or updates a number of subpages under its user page for runtime configuration, directives and status information.[3] OperationThe CorenSearchBot is meant to function continuously, without direct human supervision. ProgramCorenSearchBot is written in Perl and takes advantage of the new Mediawiki API for everything. The source code can be perused here, but it's not pretty. Footnotes
